Your first conversation: asking clearly
A model cannot read your intentions. A vague request like “make me a plan” gets a generic answer. If you say who it is for, why, how long it should take and in what form you need it, the result becomes sharper.
A good request has three things: the task (what to do), the context (for whom, in what situation) and the form of the result (list, table, length).
It is normal for the first attempt not to be perfect. Continuing the conversation and correcting as you go is a normal way to work.
Remember
- Task + context + form of the result.
- A clear request = a useful answer.
- You can refine the first answer.
Exercise
Which request will give a better result?
Answer and explanation
- “Write me some plan.”Too general: it is not clear what for or for how long.
- “Plan!!!”A request without direction produces a random answer.
- “Make a 4-week English study plan, 30 minutes a day. My current level is beginner. Give it as a week-by-week table.” (correct answer)The goal, duration, level and form of the result are all stated.
Practical task
Write a vague request, then rewrite it using task, context and form. Compare the two answers.
- I wrote two requests
- I described the difference in one sentence
